The Ultimate Guide To Airsoft Gun’s Construction

airsoft gun

An airsoft gun is a soft-bore, spring-powered pistol that uses compressed air to shoot plastic pellets at velocities of up to 300 meters per second. These guns are not toys and must only be purchased and used by adults over 18 years of age.

They can be purchased online or in person from specialty shops. All players must follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use or face serious injury or death from improper use.

has been a sport since the 1970s when Japanese merchants took interest in training soldiers how to fight without weapons. During the 1990s, interest in airsoft grew around the world as more and more people became interested in purchasing and playing with their own airsoft guns

Airsoft Guns: What are BB and Pellet guns?

  • BB Guns

A BB gun, or air gun, is a non-powder gun that uses compressed air or gas to shoot small metal balls. Airsoft guns use varying types of propulsive power such as spring, lever and elasticity. The most popular BB guns use spring-powered technology (or a pneumatic firing mechanism).

While spring-powered technology dates back to the 1600s, airsoft guns were invented in Japan in the early 1970s. All airguns must be powered by some type of propellant—either compressed air or a tightly wound spring—in order to expel projectiles. Today, airsoft guns are made from steel or plastic with most having the appearance of military training firearms.

  • Pellet Guns

A pellet gun is a type of airsoft pistol that uses a flywheel and spring-powered technology to shoot plastic pellets. Pellet guns are often "pump" guns because their power source is a mechanical muscle rather than a spring.

Pellet guns have been sold in toy stores since the 1800s, but they were never popular until the 1980s when more and more people became interested in playing with their own pellet airsoft guns. Today, airsoft and pellet guns are both designed to be used by adults over the minimum age of 18 years old. They can be purchased online or in person from many retailers.

Different Components Of Airsoft Guns

The first thing we need to do is to look at the various parts of the airsoft gun. Airsoft usually consists of springs and spring guides, pistons, cylinders, air nozzles, motor pinions, etc.

Spring

When the piston is pushed by the spring at high speed, the air is forced out of the cylinder. Pellets are pushed through the barrel at speeds of 200-400 feet per second by air hitting them. The piston compresses the spring of the airsoft gun in this way.

Spring Guide

In addition to shooting BBs, the spring guide is an integral part of the airsoft gun that holds the spring in place. The BBs that it shoots are equally important to the gun. As a result, the gun's gearbox would eventually be jammed by bending springs.

In high-quality spring guides, bearings facilitate smoother expansion of the spring. Furthermore, the bearings permit the spring to twist as it compresses or decompresses. Metal spring guides are also usually used.

Piston Head

When the gear releases the piston, the piston pulls back the spring that moves the piston head forward. By dragging the piston back, the piston head draws air into the cylinder.

The piston head releases air from the cylinder as soon as the piston is released.

In order to achieve extra flexibility, some airsoft gun pistons are made of polycarbonate mixed with nylon.

Cylinder

Pistons or piston heads push air out of the barrel of an airsoft gun via the cylinder, which holds the compressed air. In order for the piston head to move back and forth at high speeds, the internal part of the cylinder needs to be perfectly aligned.

The volume of air in the cylinder must be balanced with that of the bars. Airsoft guns incorporate specific holes in their cylinder points so that this is possible.

Air Nozzle

Air nozzles load pellets into the hop up and barrel. The hop up/barrel transfers air from the cylinder head to this part. High-end AEGs have an O-ring inside the air nozzle. This allows the cylinder head to be sealed off from the nozzle, assuring that no air will flow between these components.

Motor And Gear

Gearboxes are powered by motors. Motors with large torque provide the most versatile function sets. High-speed motors are capable of pulling most springs of airsoft guns. The users may choose to use these motors.

When choosing the high-speed motors, bear in mind that they are not capable of pulling large springs of airsoft guns, so you may have to sacrifice some frames per second.

The motor's pinion gear connects the shafts to the bevel gear. The motor also drives the gearbox through the pinion gear.

Safety

Despite the fact that airsoft guns cannot kill or injure a person badly, basic safety precautions should still be taken. In order to be safe, you'll need to wear protective gear when using airsofts.
