A paintball pistol is a type of gun typically used in paintball games in order to shoot the other player. These guns work the same way as a standard paintball marker or pistol, but they are less powerful and can only shoot one ball of paint at a time. Paintballs were invented by Bob Gurnsey and Charles Gaines in 1981.
A "pistol" is a small hand-held firearm that fires rounds, typically with a barrel around six inches long. In many cases, these guns will be fitted with adjustable sights on top of the barrel. These sights are used by the shooter to aim at a target.
The "pistol" is one of the most used paintball guns for home or sportsman's use. A pistol can be bought at any gun store, sporting goods store, or department store. These pistols are grouped into three general types called auto, semi-auto and bolt action. Pistols come in all shapes and sizes from small .22 calibers to large magnum shotguns.
The invention of Paintball Weapons
These pistols have been in use since the early to mid-1980s. For many years, they were revolvers that shot a paintball filled with oil and/or other combustible materials at a player. As time went on, new designs were invented that focused more on semi-automatic pistols.
Today's standard is the CO2-powered gas-accelerated paintball pistol that blasts a stream of pressurized air which propels the projectile at the target. One way or another, this pistol has found itself firmly embedded into the culture of paintballing and sports enthusiasts thanks to its ability to deliver powerful rounds for short-range engagements or act as a scare tactic for frightening away would-be assailants.
The idea of arming yourself with a pistol as you play is not a new one. In fact, everyone knows that hunting with revolvers has been around for decades, but there's only been one company that has ever made a wholesale profit by making guns for paintball players called "Paintball Weaponry," or "PWF.
The Right Way to Use Pistols
If you're a paintball player looking to broaden your game, it's important to know when and how best to use your paintball pistol.
1) Make sure that you’ve checked for safety. There should be someone in the field who can instruct you on how to do this properly. Make sure there is no gas or liquid coming out of the barrel; if there is, then don't use it. Make sure that the magazine is in place and not falling out. Also, make sure that when you push the safety button in, it goes all the way down.
People have been known to forget to do this and then they end up shooting themselves in the face! (This can actually happen.) If something doesn't seem right, don't use your paintball pistol until you've had it checked out.
2) Figure out what kind of pistol you have. There are basically two types of pistols: one-handed guns and two-handed guns.
Paintballs Can be Dangerous:
Paintball guns, pistols, and paintball markers are popular weapons used on a lot of fields. They are also quite challenging to use and can be quite dangerous. Many players have reported serious injuries such as broken bones, concussions, and even permanent damage.
There are safety rules that need to be followed when using a paint gun; however, these rules can be difficult for the novice player to follow and many accidents result from this failure. Players need to know how to operate a paintball pistol before they engage in any gameplay so they know what actions are safe for themselves or their teammates at all times during the game.
Pistols are Trendy Weapons!
This pistol is the most popular choice for players because its size and portability make it much easier to carry. When a player wears a paintball harness, he can bring all his required equipment for the game, which includes a gun, air tank and magazine. Now these pistols are available in many different options like gas-based, CO2-based and even mechanical ones.
Gas-based pistols use either propane or compressed carbon dioxide (CO2) to shoot a very low velocity projectile at an opposing player. However, this type of weapon has a much faster rate of fire than other pistols because removing the need to cock the gun allows it to fire quickly.
